Oktober 2024, inflasi Year-on-Year (y-on-y) Provinsi Sumatera Utara sebesar 1,59 persen

In October 2024, year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation in North Sumatra Province was 1.59 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 105.64. The highest y-on-y inflation occurred in Pematang Siantar City at 3.03 percent with a CPI of 107.25 and the lowest occurred in Karo Regency at 0.18 percent with a CPI of 106.08.

  The y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices indicated by an increase in the index of most expenditure groups, namely: food, beverages and tobacco group by 2.44 percent; clothing and footwear group by 2.33 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group by 0.51 percent; household equipment, tools and routine maintenance group by 0.15 percent; health group by 1.10 percent; recreation, sports and culture group by 0.48 percent; education group by 1.01 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group by 1.23 percent; and personal care and other services group by 6.90 percent. Meanwhile, expenditure groups that experienced deflation were the information, communication and financial services group by 0.06 percent and the transportation group by 0.53 percent. 

  The month-to-month (m-to-m) inflation rate was 0.13 percent and the year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation rate was 0.59 percent.
