Economic Growth of Binjai in 2020

• The economy of Binjai in 2020 decreased by minus 1.83 percent. Has decreased compared to 2019 which grew by 5.51 percent.

• Based on the production approach, the highest growth was achieved by the information and communication business sector at 7.34 percent. This was followed by the electricity and gas supply business field at 5.67 percent, and the water supply business field, waste management, waste and recycling by 2.37 percent.

• Meanwhile, from the expenditure approach, growth for government consumption is 7.82 percent. Meanwhile household consumption was minus 1.32 percent, gross fixed capital formation was minus 0.49, household non-profit institution consumption was minus 4.20 percent.

• Three business fields that give a dominant role to Binjai's GRDP according to business fields in 2020, namely: wholesale and retail trade, car and motorcycle repair by 29.17 percent; construction business field of 12.40 percent; as well as the processing industry business field of 11.12 percent.

• Meanwhile, from the expenditure side, the component of household consumption expenditure (PKRT) gave the largest contribution, amounting to 58.24 percent; following the gross fixed capital formation component of 32.22 percent; and government consumption component by 6.15 percent.

• Nominally, the PDRB of Binjai City in 2020 at the current price reached Rp. 11,769.07 billion and the GRDP at constant 2010 prices reached Rp. 7,984.46 billion.
