Abstract

  • Village Potential Data Collection (Podes) is carried out three (3) times in ten (10) years. Based on the 2018 Podes results, in Sumatera Utara there were 6,132 government administrative areas at the village level consisting of 5,437 villages, 692 kelurahan and 3 UPT / SPT. The 2018 Podes also records 449 sub-districts and 33 districts / cities.
  • The Village Development Index (IPD) shows the level of village development with a status of being left behind, developing, and independent. The results of the categorization of IPD produced underdeveloped villages as many as 1,469 villages (27.02 percent), developing villages as many as 3,768 villages (69.30 percent), and independent villages as many as 200 villages (3.68 percent).
  • The Village Development Index is structured based on five dimensions, namely Basic Service Dimensions, Infrastructure Condition Dimensions, Transportation Dimensions, Public Service Dimensions, and Village Government Implementation Dimensions. In 2018, all the dimensions of compilation of IPD increased when compared to 2014. The dimensions with the highest increase were the Implementation of Village Government, which amounted to 12.46 points. While the dimension with the smallest increase is Basic Services, which is equal to 0.60 points.
